Lead me to Thy Church!

Recently my son was taking violin lesson's at a nearby church administered by the Reverends daughter a music major referred to us by the High School Orchestra Teacher! We were invited to sit in on a sermon shortly after the renovation's were completed on the main Chapel. prior to the Sermon the Reverend pointed out the Huge Wooden Beams holding up the main Structure and went into detail the "Rarity, of the Brazilian wood" and it's million dollar price tag!

That prompted this poem!

Lead me to thy Church!

Towering above,
Massive Branches spread round,
Embracing me with limbs,
A Trunk the Foundation.
Lead me to thy Church!

Blowing, Whispering in my ear,
Breezes that touch me gently.
The dew upon my face,
Kissing me softly.
Lead me to thy Church!

Turning stars in the night,
Bright lights glow,
Light a path for me,
Pulling me on my way.
Lead me to thy Church!

Guiding me by moon,
Darkness I know not.
Leaving my heart,
Yearning for voice.
Lead me to thy Church!

The meadow, The field,
Along the stream.
What leaves me a path,
Footprint's it seem's.
Lead me to thy Church!

Lights shining,
Brighten the way.
Shows the day,
Brings the sun.
Lead me to thy Church!

Morning brings life,
Sounds awaken.
Thine Tree still shelters me,
It's Limbs embrace.
Safe in the arm's of thy Church!

I personally use a blend of the two Frying recipes since trying each independently! But I highly recommend the Hollandaise Sauce with both!
My Family can't get enough!
Unfortunately it takes me at least 2 hours in the kitchen so I save the complete Fish and Sauce recipe for special occasions only, ie..Birthday's, Christmas etc...

Dangerous Dog Taxes!

As shelters suffer overcrowding as a result of the Economic downfall’s causing extended un-employment and excessive layoffs more and more pet owners are faced with the tough decision of turning their pets over to a local shelter!
It’s a sad day when Taxing has become so prevalent in the process of pet control that it has priced honest working citizens out of a pet! Our city currently requires a $500.00 license for a pet deemed Dangerous and this varies from Rottweiler’s, to Pit’s (American Terriers), and Doberman’s. The selection of determination is left up to the Local license issuer whether it’s a Vet or the local Animal Control Center.
If a pet is left un-neutered there is an additional fee for “intact pet”!

These are based on Breed specifics only and have nothing to do with the temperament of the pet! If a person applies for Adoption of one of these “Dangerous” dog’s they must go through an application process that requires the certification of the property having a secured “60inch high” fence! Most fences are only 40 inches high! If there is the added risk of the pet climbing or jumping additional measures must be made!
Should the pet escape there are stiff fines and recovery fees and a license may be revoked and the pet killed! Deemed Dangerous can also be reported by a neighbor whom “say’s” the animal “appears aggressive” towards teasing children, or other pets walking near a fence or gate!
Once a fine has been issued for any violation an owner may take a Handling Education class to get some fines dropped but not all fines are eligible through this measure. If an animal should ever bite a person or another pet, they are Quaranteed, the situation review, fines and fee’s paid and if the pet isn’t killed, it’s then listed on the city web page of vicious animal‘s.

Everyone wonders why shelters are overrun with abandoned pets and why so many animals are being killed each year. This should help shed some light on some of the obstacles we as a society must overcome!
Any animal can be Dangerous, and all animals have to capacity to be Vicious. I have cornered Cat’s that I would rather not encounter without proper protective clothing. I have walked up to Aggressive German Shepherds I could talk out of biting me  but by the same token Encountered Chihualla and Pekinese that wouldn’t back down! Point made!

Here's a list of dog's insurance company's consider Dangerous!

Blacklist Dangerous Dog Breeds

As we move forward as a society wishing not to kill innocent animals, we must accept the fact that  certain responsibility come from pet ownership and as long as personal responsibilities aren’t met, the city government will step in, take control and find ways to financially benefit from what amounts to our lack of Education! Read my previous blog on Selecting the right type of dog . It should have been titled “Killing a pet 101“!

One the the First Day God Created Dog!

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past.  For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking.  How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"

 So God agreed......

On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh.  For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."

The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years?  That's a pretty long time to perform.  How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"

 And God agreed......

On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family.  For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years.  How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed again......

On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life.  For this, I'll give you twenty years."

But the human said, "Only twenty years?  Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God.  "You asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.  For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.  For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren.  And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

10 Things you can do to stop dog fighting

10 Things To Do If You Suspect Dog Fighting

1. Contact the police or your local animal control officer. Provide as much information as you can without putting yourself in danger. In other words, don’t try to investigate; that’s what the police do. Simply report the date and time you noticed something wrong, the address or location, and what led you to believe there was dog fighting going on – for instance, an unusually high number of cars nearby (write down license plate numbers if they’re easily visible from a safe location), sounds of violence or crowd noises (as if at a sporting event).

2. Call the Humane Society of the United States’ toll-free tip line at:
(877) 847-4787 to report your suspicion.

3. Report abandoned buildings to your local housing authority or the police. In urban areas, they are often used for dog fighting as well as City parks that Gang's are gathering in.

4. Protect your pets. Dog fighters sometimes steal them to use as bait dogs. Don’t let yours outside without supervision, and make sure they have proper identification tags and are microchipped. Report pet theft in your area.

5. Alert the local media! Your local newspaper and television station are always looking for stories, especially investigative ones. You don’t have to give them your name. Also encourage local media to air public service announcements on dog fighting. Every news station has an investigative reporter looking to become Famous!

6. Keep reporting your suspicion until you’re satisfied that it’s been checked out. It’s okay to make a nuisance of yourself if it means shutting down a dog-fighting operation.

7. Start a community watch group.Get the neighborhood children involved in watching out for stray or loose dogs.

8. Contact your state representative or senator about dog-fighting legislation at the state level, or talk to your city council and mayor about enacting a local ordinances.

9. Provide positive reinforcement to police and prosecutors who charge dog fighters. Let them know you appreciate their efforts.

10. Remember that you have something all elected officials want – your vote.

This dog was only four months old when he was tied to a stake and used as bait to teach other dogs how to fight. Get involved and end this cruel world of dog-fighting.
